  Interview questions and answers

When you have been successful and have been given a time and date for interview it is most important that you prepare as much as you can both in terms of what you think what questions will be asked and also most importantly how you will answer these questions. If you are able to give clear, structured and detailed answers then this will ensure that the interviewer will rank you more highly compared to other candidates.

1. Tell me more about your self and your past history?

Don’t go through all your past employment history. Tell them about one to two minutes of experience that you think is relevant for the post. Even if you have do not have a past employment history you can use elements of other life experiences that will be useful to fulfil this criteria.

2. Do you consider yourself a team player?

The answer has got to be yes! Use previous examples in your work or education history to back up that you are a team player and not a loner!

3. What do you think is your main weakness?

This can be a very difficult question. It comes up quite a lot in interviews or in application forms. Don’t try to say you don’t have any. Come up with something that will not show you in a bad light. Remember you can turn it around to say that an extremely positive aspect some may think of as a weakness

4. Why should I hire you instead of the other candidates?

Don’t be scared to sell your self – that is what you are here for. Think of all the positive aspects of your life and personality that you can bring to the job and let the person you are speaking to know that you are a self confident, enthusiastic and positive individual who is willing to bring a whole host of talents to the job which the company will be able to use to their advantage!
